This month, Stake’s Counter-Strike 2 tournament returns, with some of the best teams competing for a $100,000 prize pool in Barcelona. Can Astralis win back-to-back Stake Ranked titles, or will one of the other 7 teams take home the glory? Find out Stake's CS2 betting predictions for the tournament below.

Our outright winner prediction for Stake Ranked Episode 5

We’re picking Astralis to win Stake Ranked Episode 5. The Danish Esports team are fresh from winning Episode 4 earlier in the month. With a ranking of #11, they have the highest VRS ranking in the competition. Astralis beat FaZe Clan, BIG, Fnatic, Luminosity and Nemiga Gaming at Episode 4. Staehr excelled for Astralis in Episode 4, and we’re predicting him to shine in this tournament too.

Can Astralis win back-to-back Stake Ranked titles?

Astralis just won EP4 of Stake Ranked earlier in the month. They lost the opening match to Alliance, but progressed through the lower bracket to then beat Nemiga 3-1 in the final. It was their first major LAN tournament win since 2019, and they now have a chance to potentially win back-to-back titles.

Staehr was the top-rated player of EP4, and he has the ability to make a difference once more. Over the past 12 months, he’s achieved a 1.16 rating. Other top players on the Astralis roster include phzy and ryu.

MIBR - can Brazil's top team take the title?

MIBR are their second highest-ranked team according to their VRS of #13. They have the shortest odds in their opening match against Eternal Fire, with a strong chance to reach the Upper Bracket semifinals. The Brazilian team recently finished as runners-up at the Stake Pulse Beat III tournament and has already won 2 LAN tournaments this year.

insani is the top player on the MIBR roster, with a rating of 1.24 over the past 12 months. nqz and venomzera have also performed well this year. Our Stake Ranked predictions Episode 5 have insani as one of the standout performers.

Dark horse picks for Stake Ranked Episode 5

BIG - VRS #24 and a top-six finish at Episode 4

BIG have a tough opening match against magic, where they’re slight favourites. Their current VRS ranking of #27 has them as the 4th highest-ranked team in their tournament. At Stake Ranked Episode 4, BIG finished 5th-6th after losing to Astralis in the lower-bracket quarterfinals. This year, they’ve won 3 C-tier LAN tournaments.

magic and Inner Circle - mid-table VRS invites chasing points before the Major cut-off

magic are just behind BIG in the current VRS rankings at #27. They finished as runners-up at Stake Ranked Episode 2. magic will be looking to improve their VRS ranking before the cut-off for PGL Major Singapore 2026. tenzy is the top player on their roster over the past 12 months, with a 1.15 rating.

Fnatic - late replacement for B8 after a 4th-place run at Episode 4

Although they failed to make it through the closed qualifier, Fnatic will compete in the LAN finals. They replace B8, who pulled out due to scheduling issues. They have a tough opening match against Astralis, who previously knocked them out of Stake Ranked Episode 4. As a result, the Counter Strike betting odds aren’t in their favour. However, earlier in the year, Fnatic finished 3rd-4th at Stake Beat Pulse I.

Can Eternal Fire or Nemesis pull off a qualifier upset?

Eternal Fire has a difficult opening match against MIBR, which they’re not expected to win. However, this is a double-elimination tournament, so they could still potentially make it through the Lower Bracket. They qualified for EP5 through the closer qualifier and currently hold a VRS ranking of #32. Eternal Fire aren’t favourites to win. However, we’ve seen qualifying teams pull off upsets before. Recent EP3 and 4 runners-up, Nemiga and K27, both came through the qualifiers.

Nemesis are the other team to enter the tournament through the qualifiers. They beat Rune Eaters, Sashi and Fnatic to make it through the closed qualifier. In their opening match of the LAN finals, Nemesis face Inner Circle, where they’re the Esports betting underdogs. There’s a potential for them to get an upset though, and if not, the Lower Bracket can still offer a route to the Grand Final.

Value bets and parlays for Stake Ranked Episode 5

Our value bet for the opening round is for magic vs BIG to go over 2.5 maps. Both teams are evenly matched, and the match winner odds are very close. We could definitely see this one being a closely contested match, which requires the third map to settle it.

Eternal Fire to beat MIBR potentially offers real value too. They’re major underdogs in this matchup, and although we expect MIBR to make the final, Eternal Fire have looked solid. They performed well in the closed qualifier and have high-level LAN experience, finishing as runners-up at the 2025 BLAST Bounty Spring.

Our opening round parlay is for Astralis to beat Fnatic and BIG to beat magic.
